Alright! I'm back in Singapore!! After 8 days trip at Taiwan, i'm totally in love with this country! Its like their air is good, food nt bad and accomodation was damn awesome! However, this was all under the condition that u were there for a short visiting trip.. Never mind! Shall save and go again, that time i shall bring more $$ to go shopping :P Ok! Shall start my trip story :)
Day 1:
Woke up early in the morning, done everything neccesary and den off we go to changi airport. Upon reaching the airport, we went to terminal 3 to meet our local tour guide, Jasmine to take out air tickets. After checking in our bags, we went to have a light breakfast at their staff foodcourt which i consider the food so-so bt its cheaper den the normal foodcourt. After going to toilet, we went into the departure hall and walk ard den went to the room where u wait to board the plane. In a few mins time, i found myself sitting in the plane and the plane was alrdy taking off into the air. Hours later, i found myself at this piece of land named Taiwan! Tell ur something! The ppl there is damn slow, the guy took damn lng to stamp our passport! I was swearing and cursing while queing up! Ruined my mood! Afterwards, we went out of the airport and saw our tour guide, Jasmine and another tour guide frm Taiwan. We called him Lin dao you or xiao lin! He's quite nice looking and damn humourous! Den, we waited for our bus to fetch us to Taipei 101! The weather was freezing cold there, when the wind blew. I swear i was shivering frm my head to toe wor! Afterwards, we went to Lin Jiang Ye Shi. Its a place selling those shoes, bags and food at very cheap price! So i gt a shirt, glove, socks and a hairclip. Also, i tried all the food that u sure can't get to eat in singapore!! Which is pig's blood!
After the ye shi, we went back to our hotel and rest.
Day 2:
We woke up at 5.30am though the morning call was set at 7am. That's because my parents and I had to take turns to bath and packed our bags, also checked whether we had missed our anythings. Then, we went to 12 floor for our breakfast. It was quite nice! With beautiful scenery and delicious food. Afterwards, we set off to various tourist spot. Such as, yang ming shan, shi lin guan di & zong lie ci. Its very nice bt i won't spent too much time on this :) Den, we travel for a very lng journery to yi lan, shangri-la vacation farm hotel. At there, we travel to the highest point and saw the breath-taking view! And we also get to eat the fruits that they grow there, it was a mini version of orange and very sweet! As the sky darkens ard 5 something, we went down and den get a rest at our room. Later on, my mum and i sat at the shelter situated right in front of our hotel block, chatting. Suddenly, a loud boom echo through the air! While wondering what that was, my mum suddenly told me to look up into the sky and i saw beautiful fireworks bursting through the air. And den, we went up to see whose playing n found out it was our local tour guide, bus driver and den another couple frm our tour grp. Afterwards, all i knew was, i joined them and started playing too! It was damn exciting! Most of the fireworks was sponsor by the bus driver and the couple cause except my mother n the bus driver, none of us gt the experience of playing with fireworks! As the night grew darker, the atmosphere gets hotter as the hotel staff had prepared for us an entertainment show. Which include a tuo luo competition, making of tang yuan & lastly fang tian teng! The very last one is the best because this activity cld be done in singapore as it would endangered the plane that's flying ard in singapore mid-air.
Day 3:
After breakfast, we went to tai lu ge guo jia gong yuan. It was famous for the rocks it produced which was the marble floor or what we called da li shi in chinese! All the mountain there actually is full of the da li shi which was very expensive bt because of the da li shi that they produced in taiwan, a lot of shopping mall uses these da li shi to make their floor! The water there is also vry clear, like crystal clear! However, the water flowing through the mountain isn't much alrdy. As they build a dam on the upper stream, hence causing the little water flowing through it! Afterwards, we embarked on another lng journery to the luminous hot spring & spa hotel as i mentioned in my earlier post. Also, we took a train (nt MRT) to one of the tourist spot! Its a dream come true as i had wished to sit on a train for vry lng!!
Day 4:
We moved towards ken ting, and we saw a miracle sign!! We went to a place that the fire actually came out frm the ground! Its like there's no charcoal, no gas, no anything! Definitely 100% natural! And i bought two sweet potato, grilled by this natural fire and it was very sweet! Different frm what we had eaten in Singapore. Follow by, we went to visit a temple which had a lng history. After that, we went to eat out lunch and set out for our hotel that we are due to stay that night. Upon reaching, the hotel was named YOHO! Alng the Taiwan Straits, damn beautiful! Bt den, our room is damn far frm the lobby! We had to walk quite a distance den can reached the lobby! At night, they brought us to the ken ting streets where ppl sell food and accesorries that they made their own. Also, we were to settle our own dinner there. Afterwards, the bus driver brought us to an open place for us to play fireworks. He actually stock up for us so that we can purchased frm him and this definitely was a different experience of celebrating 2011! I gt take down video for this bt it would be all up on FB!
Day 5:
We left kenting the next day and head towards Gao Xiong. Firstly, we went to a temple situated on a mountain. We had to climb a very steep slope in order to reach the top! Den, follow by, we went to a place called mei nong chun to walk ard and i bought chopsticks with spoon made of metal for me & my sis. Afterwards, we went to Dream Mall. It was said to be the largest shopping mall in Gao Xiong. It totally had 3 blocks. 1st block was selling t-shirt & other types of products by theme like doreamon. 2nd block was selling the branded stuff! And they actually build a ferrywheels in Hello Kitty shape! And den, i bought some face mask frm the Sasa shop there. It was definitely cheaper den Singapore. At night, we went to the liu he ye shi. This time round, we were given two options. One was the tour guide wld bring us there and den bring us back to the hotel bt with only one hr or so to look ard, another option was they would bring us there bt we wld take taxi back on our own. So, we all chose the second options. Happily, i bought a shoe that day because we had more den enough time to look ard.
Day 6:
We took off frm Gao Xiong to Tai Zhong. On the way there, we went to a place called ri yue tan. Once there's an earthquake called 921 earthquake which cause a lot of death, took place at ri yue tan. Almost all the building collapsed during the earthquake except for two buildings. One was a temple they called it wen wu miao and another was a hotel called jin shen lou. Frm what they said was that they had very gd fengshui and had religious belief, therefore helped them to avoid this disasters. I truly believed it because they gt photos as proof and also physical damage that still exist. That earthquake happened 11 yrs ago, which was 1999. In the night, we went to a place called feng jia ye shi. It was the largest ye shi they claimed, true enough, it was larged. Once again, the tour guide brought us there and den we took a cab back to the hotel on our own.
Day 7:
We set off from tai zhong to tai pei. After the breakfast, we went to the gu gong bo wu guan. There's 30,000 pieces of antiques that they gt it frm the tomb of passing emperor or frm the ground. Some are found during the earthquake as the earthquake actually cause the soil that covered these antiques off and let these antiques to have the chance to see the light again. Den, we went to the shi lin ye shi. Famous for the food selling there, at there, i bought a pen and some other things for my sis and my niece. At night, we went to xi men ting as it was only a 15 to 20 mins car ride frm our hotel. Hence, we took a taxi back n forth. However, it was alrdy closed to their ending business time when we reached the place. Hence, there wasn't much to shop. Therefore, we just walk ard and bought the things i wanted den went back to the hotel.
Day 8:
At last, it was the last day of our 8 days Taiwan tour. I felt a bit sad to have to leave this wonderful city, however, i missed my home even more. Hence, after checking for the last time, we took our bags and went to the lobby. At there, we were chatting ard as we knew that the chances is slim for us all to meet again. On the way to airport, we were there laughing & chatting. Time flies, within split secs, we reached the airport and quickly we took out bags and i made used of a chance to take a pic with the bus driver, Jasmine and xiao lin!
Now.. Here i am, sitting on my bed and posting the past 8 days trip i had been at Taiwan. Fighting the sleep god frm calling me into his arms, overall, i am greatly satisfied with the holiday!
P.S Did i mentioned that the taiwan tour guide is a graduate frm taiwan medical course? Its true!! It took him 6 yrs to study and some more he work while studied bt ended up working as a tour guide. He studied the course to do with eyes, those can operate on patients type. His mum was angry with him bt all he said was "It was my interest in working as a tour guide as i cld learned more things den i get to being a doctor." His p.o.v was indeed different!
